FAQ
The short version of how Scorecard works.
Is Scorecard finished?
No — it's an invite-only beta. We're working out the kinks with a small group before opening up, so things will change and improve.
Why is some course info missing?
Course details are crowdsourced. During the beta, our course database grows as members add the courses they play and fill in the details. If a course isn't there yet, you can add it — and if you have the scorecard, snap a photo and we'll read the holes (par, stroke index, yardages) for you to confirm.
How do I contribute course data?
From a course's page, use Add / update scorecard to enter its hole-by-hole details, or scan a photo of the physical scorecard and review what we read. You can also add a brand-new course from My Courses. Contributions become part of the shared database so every member benefits.
What is a “Playing Partner”?
A friend you connect with in the app. Once you both accept, Playing Partners can see the rounds and photos you share, comment on them, and join Golf Trips with you. It's about sharing the experience — not a way to get on private courses.
What is a “Fore!”?
A light, friendly alert to your Playing Partners when you update your profile — adding a new course, updating your handicap, or posting round photos. It shows as a small bell on your page. You're in control: mute Fore! alerts for any individual Playing Partner from the Playing Partners screen, or turn them off for everyone at once from Settings.
What are Golf Trips?
A shared space for a getaway with your partners: add the accepted partners who came along, attach everyone's rounds for a trip leaderboard, and pool photos into one gallery. Trip members can see the rounds and photos attached to that trip even if they aren't all partners with each other.
Who can see my photos?
By default, only your accepted Playing Partners and fellow Golf Trip members. If you explicitly share a photo to a course's page, it becomes visible to all members on that page. Photo files live at unguessable links and are never sold or used for ads.
Is my data private?
Your scores, photos, and profile are private by default. Only the Playing Partners you accept — and members of trips you join — can see what you share. We don't sell data and we don't run ads. See our Privacy Policy.
What happens to scorecard/history photos I upload?
They're sent to Google Gemini, a third-party AI service that reads the data so you don't have to type it. You always review what's extracted before it's saved. We use a provider that doesn't retain or train on your images.
How do I delete my data or account?
You can delete individual rounds and photos anytime. To remove everything, open Settings and use the delete-account option: it permanently removes your rounds, photos (including the image files), comments, partner connections, trip memberships, and notifications. Course data you contributed stays for other members, but is no longer credited to you. See the Privacy Policy for details.
